A pipedream or real opportunity for transformation?

In this episode, our guest are Betty Makena, Kenya’s first ever female Port Inspector working for the International Transport Federation, and Edward Kimakwa, Senior Marine Advisor for the Western Indian Ocean Governance Initiative (WIOGI) at GIZ Kenya and Our Blue Future (OBF) Coordinator. Together, we are taking a critical look at the concept of a sustainable blue economy: Is it even achievable in practice, and what steps and building blocks are necessary for implementing it? Hear more about the work that is already being done to secure sustainable oceans for sustainable communities, as well as the role women and local communities should play and what specific support needs to be provided.
