The World Water Forum stands as the premier global assembly within the water sector, uniting diverse stakeholders and jointly organized by the World Water Council and a designated host city. Convened every three years since its inception in 1997, this forum transcends the typical conference format. Its comprehensive structure encompasses a three-year preparatory phase, a week-long event phase, and the synthesis phase dedicated to presenting outcomes and perpetuating support for collective action.
This inclusive gathering draws participants from various spheres, including politics, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society, and the private sector. The Forum’s growth over the years is evident, with attendance expanding from a modest number to tens of thousands, representing both the international community and host countries.
From May 18th to 24th, 2024, the World Water Forum will bring together heads of state, leaders of international organizations, high-ranking government officials, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and economists worldwide. During this period, they will exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss practices across a broad spectrum of water-related topics.
