Solutions basées sur les connaissances pour favoriser une économie bleue durable en Afrique de l’Ouest

The MeerWissen podcast Ocean InSight features the first episode in French. This episode is hosted by Ibrahima Camara and Baye Cheikh Mbaye from Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics and Ocean Siméon Fongang at University Cheick Anta Diop in Dakar, who are both co-coordinating the project “Taking the Pulse of the Ocean” (PULSE) in Senegal. They are taking us to West Africa to discuss with Alison Amoussou from the Abidjan Convention and Waly Ndiaye from the Institut Senegalais de Recherches Agricoles, more specifically the Oceanographic Research Center of Dakar-Thiaroye (CRODT), how knowledge-based solutions can be implemented to foster a sustainable blue economy in West Africa.

In this episode, you learn about first-hand experiences of what exactly a sustainable blue economy could look like in the Abidjan Convention region. Amoussou and Ndiaye discuss key challenges, how to expand blue economy opportunities, and about key lessons from the MeerWissen project “Seaweed for climate change resilient blue economies, biodiversity, and ecosystem services” (CLIMALG).
